The container trains set off on their 12,000 km, 20-day journey to and from China multiple times a week. They connect different destinations in China and Europe – in Germany currently via the terminals in Duisburg and Hamburg. As a result, transport costs are generally 50 percent lower than for air freight, and the transit times are up to 50 percent shorter than with sea freight.
